Boost Your Breakfast With Fruit

We know that breakfast is the most important meal of the day. But simply eating breakfast does not ensure that you will have a healthy start for the day. Many of today's popular breakfast foods are high in carbs, fat, and sugars. By starting each day with these types of food, you are setting yourself up to form poor eating habits that can negatively impact your health.

But skipping breakfast isn't the answer either. If you skip eating breakfast, you will miss essential vitamins, calories needed to make it through the day, and energy. When you eat a healthy breakfast you will be more alert and able to focus more easily. This will benefit every aspect of your life, so it is important to pick good breakfast foods.

So what is a good breakfast food? Try fruit. There are many ways you can eat fruit in the morning, believe it or not. You can cut up fresh fruit and put it on top of a whole grain cereal. You can eat fresh fruit with cottage cheese. You can eat fruit by itself. Or you can combine fruit with natural juice and low fat yogurt to make a fruit smoothie for breakfast.

Eating fruit for breakfast can help you lose weight too. Fruit provides lots of energy to start the day without all of the carbs found in breakfast pastries or breakfast sandwiches. Fruit is low in calories but high in energy and eating fruit for breakfast can be a great way to stick your diet while enjoying something delicious.

By eating a healthy serving of fruit in the morning, you will have eaten the most important meal of the day and maintained a healthy diet. You will eliminate the carbs, fat, and sugars that are associated with typical breakfast foods. And, you will have satisfied at least one of your fruit servings for the day. So explore new fruits and try eating them in new ways. Your waistline will thank you for it.
